Abstract
Objective To study the effect of mifepristone on the expression of bcl 2?P53 and estrogen receptor(ER),progestogen receptor(PR) in uterine leiomyoma. Methods The expression of bcl 2,P53 protein, and ER,PR was determined immunohistochemically in leiomyoma of 12 mifepristone treated(experimental group) cases, which were compared with 12 untreated patients(control group). Results The positive rate of bcl 2 and ER,PR in experimental group was significantly lower than that in control group( P 0.01).No signficant difficance of the positive rate of P53 was observed between the two groups ( P 0.05).Conclusion Mifepristone can significantly decrease the expression of bcl 2,and ER,PR in leiomyoma which can induce leiomyoma cell apoptosis.
