Abstract

The existence of survivors of a former dynasty is natural in the feudal Chinese history.Proceeding from the early Qing Dynasty when there were large numbers of the former Ming Dynasty subject,the article analyzes the apparent characteristics of these survivors,for example they were extremely alcoholic,highly skillful in martial arts with a strong inclination to withdraw from social life.However,they were not as care-free as they appeared to be.Their bizarre way of behavior couldn't conceal their inner misery for losing their own dynasty and homes.In light of this,the author reveals the root cause for this phenomenon from historic and literary angles.
