Abstract

Objectives To evaluate the effect of angiotensin Ⅱ on the protein and mRNA expression of monocyte chemoattractant protein 1(MCP 1) in cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs) Methods The levels of protein and mRNA of MCP 1 were detected by ELISA and RT PCR respectively. Results Angiotensin Ⅱ distinctly increased the expression of MCP 1 in HUVECs; The highest expression was performed at 1×10 -7 mol/L angiotensin Ⅱ or at the 4th hour respectively; and losartan reduced the expression of MCP 1 remarkably. Conclusions Angiotensin Ⅱ can significantly increase the expression of MCP 1 in HUVECs,which is antagonized by losartan.
