Abstract

By analyzing the transverse force of test sample(wire),a general formula has been established between the sample's deflection angle and its Young's modulus. On the basis of it,only if the experimental equipments of measuring Young's modulus by means of tensile method having been redesigned, the measurement of the sample's Young's modulus could be completed just by measuring its diameter and forced deflecting angle, which needs easy and simple conditions, with results being precise. Thus, many limitations can be overcome such as heavy and huge equipments, too many complicated instruments and enormous measuring data existing in measuring Young's modulus by means of vertical tensile method which are popularly used at present.
