Crossbreeding effect of Tianfu meat goat in north Sichuan

The production performances of hybrid goats improved from local goat crossbreeding with Tianfu meat goat in North Sichuan were tested in this text.The results showed that the performances of improved goats were significantly higher than that of the local goats.Compared with the local goats,the body weight of improved bucks increased by 33.13% at two months,and the body weight of improved ewes increased by 51.25%.The body weight of improved bucks increased by 47.31%,and improved ewes increased by 59.18% at nine months.As for body sizes,the body height,body length and chest circumference of the improved bucks increased by 17.35%,18.24% and 8.14%,compared to the local bucks at nine months,and the body sizes of the improved ewes increased by 22.76%,18.96% and 14.30% respectively.
