Abstract
Root morphological characteristics, dry weight and potassium accumulation of fifteen maize inbred lines seedling were studied under natural low potassium field experiment. The results showed that maize inbred lines tended to have longer total root length, shorten root surface area and root volume, slender average root diameter under low potassium condition. The biomass and potassium accumulation amount in root and shoot of different maize inbred lines decreased to varying degrees. The tolerance on low-potassium of ZD-2,91-2,099 and 90-21-3 were tolerant to low potassium stress;ZD-1,D937,8112 and 835 were sensitive to low potassium stress, relatively.
