Abstract

Objective:To provide anatom icalbasisforthe operation ofrepairing dislocation ofthe distalradio-ulnar joint adopting the tendon of flexor carpi ulnaris. M ethods:To classify the tendon offlexor carpiulnaris into three parts: upper, middle and inferior parts. Morphologic measures and the mechanic test of tendonof flexor carpi ulnaris were performed on 30 sides of adult cadavers. Results:The w idth oftendon offlexorcarpi ulnaris was about (7.6±0.9)mm, ( 6.4±0.7)mm and ( 5.5±0.6)mm at upper, middle and inferior partrespectively, while the thickness of tendon of flexor carpi ulnaris was about (1.7±0.3)mm, (2.0±0.3)mm and(2.3±0.2)mm seperately. The length of tendon was (16.7±2.7)cm. The results of mechanic test showed that theload on the integrity tendon of flexor carpi ulnaris was (266.7±45.2)N, and (107.2±19.9 )N on the half tendon. They had no significant difference. Conclusions:There are enough length and intensity to repairdislocation ofthe distal radio-ulnar joint by the transposition of patial tendon of flexor carpi ulnaris. Satisfactory results havebeen obtained in clinic practice.
