Abstract
This paper describes the key techniques employed for construction of the large bored pile foundations in deep water for pylon piers of Sutong Changjiang River Bridge, such as the integral floating and positioning of the steel boxed cofferdams (to be also used as boring platforms), construction process of the extremely long bored piles (steel casings of the piles were driven very deep into the riverbed), construction of huge pier bases and riverbed protection during the construction.
