Influence of Platonism on Romantic Theory

Concerning the source and nature of poetry,Romantic critics always lay the focus on poets themselves and they accept diverse ideas from different sources.The influence that Platonism especially the theory of imitation,inspiration and imagination has exerted on romantic poets and their poetry is analyzed.Romantic poets stand at the crucial point by referring primarily to the minds,emotions and imagination of the poet,instead of just rendering and putting an imitation of human life into an order designed to instruct and give artistic pleasure to the reader.
