Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of REGγ and p21 in papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues and in normal thyroid tissues as well as their relationships. Methods Specimens were derived from 20 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues and 10 cases of normal thyroid tissues.Western blot were applied to detect the protein expression of REGγ and p21 in papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues and in normal thyroid tissues. Results The results from Western blot showed that the expression of REGγ in papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues was obviously higher than that in normal thyroid tissues(P0.05).The expression of REGγ in papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues was obviously lower than that in normal thyroid tissues(P0.05).The expression of REGγ was correlative negatively with the expression of p21 in papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues(P0.05).Conclusion The formation of papillary thyroid carcinoma was related to the higher expression of REGγ and the lower expression of p21.REGγ may be promote the degradation of p21 in papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues.
