Abstract

The effect of different mathematical models on lateral vibration analysis of multi-span simple beam bridge is discussed in this paper. The conclusion demonstrates that the calculating model of single pier for railway is reasonable for equal-height pier and flexible pier of long bridge. If the difference of height or rigidity between adjacent piers is big, only coupling vibration might be considered between this pier and adjacent beams. Generally, the effect of coupling vibration of all adjacent piers should be considered.
