Abstract

Objective:To study the early screening value of mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration( MCHC) in chronic hemolytic anemia(HA). Methods:The statistical data of mean corpuscular volume(MCV),mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) and MCHC in each 30 patients of HA, megaloblastic anemia(MA), iron deficiency anemia(IDA), HA with MCV smaller than normal and healthy persons were sorted. Then the means of MCV,MCH and MCHC of each group were compared. Results:The mean of MCHC of HA patients was higher than that of others(P0.01). The means of MCHC of IDA and MA patients were lower than that of control group(P0.01). The means of MCHC of patients of MA and HA with MCV smaller than normal were the same as normal persons. The mean of MCV of MA paitents was higher than that of control group(P0.01).Conclusion:MCHC could be one early screening index of HA diagnosis.
