Abstract

The effect of indoor mean radiant temperature on human thermal sensation was analyzed, according to the theory of thermal comfort. The indoor temperature distribution and the relationship between mean radiant temperature and indoor temperature were analyzed and discussed experimentally when the radiant plate was opened or closed in winter and summer. The results show that in the context of the same indoor temperature for the premise, indoor mean radiant temperature is higher than conventional air-conditioning temperature in winter, that indoor mean radiant temperature is lower than conventional air-conditioning temperature in summer, and that the vertical and horizontal temperature difference are at the range of human comfort requirement by the means of wall radiation.Accordingly, heating and cooling by wall radiation has the characteristic of good thermal comfort and lower energy consumption.
