Clinical observation on the therapeutic effect of Berberine in thetreatment of type 2 diabetes

Objective To observe the clinical effect on type 2 diabetes treated by Berberine.Methods Sixty-two cases diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients were divided into two groups,in which 32 cases in experimental group were treated with Berberine and 30 cases in control group with insulin only for controlling blood sugar.Two weeks later,the clinical symptoms of the two groups were reviewed.Results Twelve cases from 32 patients in experimental group were excellent,18 cases were improved,and total effective rate was 93.75%.8 cases from 30 patients in control group were excellent, 15 cases were improved,and total effective rate was 76.67%.Therapy group was better than the control and there existed significant differences(P0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effect of Berberine in the treatment of type 2 diabetes has good clinical effect.
