Abstract
Compared with traditional methods, the biosorption technique offers the advantages of cheap, high efficiency, metal selective, metal recovery possible and no sludge generation. The mechanism of the biosorption of heavy metal by algae and the affecting factors of biosorption and equilibrium modeling and the kinetics equation are reviewed, and the development tendency in this field is also elucidated.
