New Method for Soft Soil Foundation Settlement Calculation and it’s Application in Embankment Engineering

Abstract

A new calculation method for dynamic and still load coupling soft embankment foundation is introduced,and the method is applied in the engineering practice of dynamic consolidation embankment treatment.The settlement of soft embankment foundation is calculated.The calculation value of the settlement is compared with the surveyed value to test the feasibility of the calculation method.The calculation result shows that the calculated total settlement value is 669.6 mm and the surveyed total settlement value is 675 mm,there is a good agreement between the calculated value and the surveyed value,which testifies this methods ’ feasibility.
