Abstract
This paper primarily introduces the design characteristics and the main construction procedure of the steel-box-girder-concrete composite beam,as well as the main points for attention. By means of temporary supporting piers of steel tubes, new attached triangular supports, and the pre-assembling process of the steel box girders, the problem of the temporary supports for and the quick erection of the continuous steel box girder spanning an existing highway is effectively solved, during the construction of which the three pre-stressing operations of the composite beam are successfully performed in difficult conditions by the flexible application of various stretching equipment and pre-stressing methods.
