Combined use of tacrolimus and prednisone following renal transplantation

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effiacy and side effects of tacrolimus combined with prednisone in renal transplantation.Methods Blood concentration and side effects of tacrolimus and renal function were observed for 3～22 months in the 22 cases of cadaveric renal transplantation.Results Renal functions were returned to normal in the 22 cases after operation. No rejection occured during the application of tacrolimus and prednisone. The concentration of tacrolimus were 5～9 μg/L from the third month after operation.Conclusion The immunosuppressive program of tacrolimus and prednisone is a high effective and safe one.
