Abstract

The effects of Helminthosporiurn carposaprum toxin on the activities of POD ,PAL and PPO in the leaves of different tomato cultivars were studied. The activities of POD, PAL and PPO from the resistant and susceptible cultivars were higher than that of the control. As the treating time's expanding ,the activities increased rapidly at the beginning ,then decreased . The activity of POD was increased within 0~24 h, then decreased; and the activities of PPO and PAL were increased within 0-36 h,then decreased gradually after treatment. As the toxin concentration of increasing , the activities of POD , PAL and PPO were increased rapidly at the beginning ,then decreased as well. There were a significant positive correlation between enzyme activities and disease resistance of eggplant cultivars.
