Abstract
The emergent treatment for sudden pollution accident by volatile phenols in raw water of upper-reach of Huangpu river was carried out in batch and pilot scale. The removal capacities of volatile phenol by coagulation,PAC adsorption and PAC adsorption -conventional process were examined. The results show enhanced flocculation process can' t effectively resolve the issue of sudden pollution of phenol in raw water.Freundlich adsorption isotherms of phenol on PAC was expressed as q_e=0.428 6 C_e~(0.2408).According to the equation, the theory dosage of bamboo based PAC is 12 mg/L.Enhanced normal process by PAC adsorption could be used as the emergent method to resolve phenol pollution incident and the optimum dosage of bamboo based PAC was 10mg/L when initial concentration of phenol was 0.008 mg/L.
