Abstract
[Objective]To detect the significance of the electronystagmography(electronystagmography,ENG) and the static posturography(static posturography,SPG) in the vestibular function examination in adult and senior patients suffering vertigo.[Methods]Ninety-six,40 to 69 years old vertigo patients were examined with static posturography(SPG) by stanging on a foam with closing eyes and then with electronystagmography(ENG).[Results]ENG abnormal were 70 in the 96 cases(72.92%).SPG abnormal were 84 of them(87.50%).Patients with both abnormal were 66(68.75%).Eight patients showed no positive finding(8.33%).[Conclusion]The combination of ENG and SPG is valuable in the diagnosis of vertigo by improving the sensitivity of vestibular function examination.
