Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effect of NS gene on gastric-carcinoma cells proliferation and apoptosis induced by curcumin.Methods:SGC-7901cells were treated with various of curcumin,we detected the rate of cell proliferation inhibition by MTT assay;detected the levels of NS gene expression in all groups by RT-PCR;detected cell cycle and cell apoptosis by flow cytometry. Results:Curcumin could effectively inhibit the SGC-7901cells proliferation in dose-dependent and time-dependent manner, reduce the level of NS gene expression, the percent of G0/ G1 phase cell increase with the decrease of S phase and sub-peak of apoptosis appear. Conclusion:Curcumin could substantially inhibit SGC-7901 cells proliferation, inducing apoptosis probably through down regulating NS gene expression.
