Investigation on AIDS Related Knowledge,Attitude and Behavior among Female Sex Workers in Entertainment Places in Daxing District in 2007

Abstract

[Objective]To understand AIDS related knowledge,risk behavior and the status of HIV,syphilis infection among female sex workers in entertainment places,explore intervention measures for the target population.[Methods]Investigation and examination were conducted for 131 female sex workers in Daxing district,Beijing from August to October,2007.[Results]Of the 151 people investigated,the understanding rate of AIDS knowledge was 67.80%.27.80% of them used condom when had sexual behavior within 1 month.HIV antibody was tasted for 151 female sex workers,all the results were negative.The positive rate of syphilis antibody was 1.32%.[Conclusion]The understanding rate of AIDS related knowledge and the rate of condom use were low among female sex workers in entertainment places.
