Clinical Analysis on Myasthenia Gravis Treated by Thymectomy

Objective To discuss the effects of myasthenia gravis by thymectomy. Methods All patients were performed by middle sternum incision to displace thymus and all fat tissues in the anterior mediastinum,ranging from the inferior of the thyroid to the diaphragm,and the width was between phenic nerves.All were followed up for 6 to 12 months,averaging 10 months. Results The symptoms of all 16 cases were relieved and 4 cases were ineffective.1 case died from masthenic crisis two days after operation.The effective rate was 71.4%. Conclusion It is an effective method to treat myasthenia gravis by surgical operation.
