The emergency aid application of improved external jugular vein puncture in critically ill patients

Abstract
Objective: To compare the applicated effect by two ways of external jugular vein puncture in rescuing critical patients in emergency department, we can explore a more effective and safer means of intravenous infusion.Methods: This study contrasted the success rate between conventional group including 45 patients who recept external jugular vein puncture from 2010 January to 2012 January and improved group including 50 case from 2012 February to 2014 February.Results: The success rate of puncture in improved group was 94%,and much more than that in the conventional group, which was 71.11%.There was significant difference between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion:The success rate of external jugular vein puncture in improved group was higher,it was worth in clinical promotion.
