Abstract
Objective To analyze the correlation of the expressions of PTEN, Rb and p53 protein in osteosarcoma of human. Methods SP immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the expressions of PTEN, Rb and p53 protein in 60 cases of osteosarcoma. Results The negative expression rates were (21.7%)(13/60) in PTEN and 60% (36/60) in Rb. The positive expression rate of p53 was 23.3% (14/60). There was no significant correlation between the expression of PTEN and that of Rb as well as p53 (P0.05).Conclusions (1) The lack expression of PTEN may be one of the mechanisms in the growth and relapse of osteosarcoma cells. (2) PTEN, Rb and p53 gene may be play roles in the growth of human osteosarcoma by interfering in different stage of cell-cycle progression.
