Abstract
Objective To study the correlation of insulin resistance (IR) with cerebral stroke .Methods The levels of glucose (FPG), free insulin (FINS) , cholesterol(CH) and triglyceride (TG) were detected in patients with cerebral stroke and healthy controls .The insulin sensibility index (ISI) advanced by Li Guang wei was analysed .Results FINS was significantly higher and ISI was significantly lower in patients with cerebral stroke than in healthy controls (P0.01) . FINS was significantly higher in patients with cerebral infarction than cerebral haemorrhage (P0.05) . Conclusion IR exists in cerebral stroke and it is an important risk factor. It is more predominant in patients with cerebral infarction than with cerebral haemorrhage .
