Abstract
The paper compared the amount of stirrup for the shear capacity of reinforced concrete beam based on for design of concrete structures (GBJ10-89)and the former code (TJ10-74).The results indicate that the amount of stirrup by recent design method is greater than that by former design method, and the reliability of members is increased. The reliability index is more reasonable.
