Exploration and Analysis of Hydropower Development Prospects of the Lancang River Basin

Based on presentation of the advantages in rich hydraulic energy in the Lancang River basin the paper has analyzed the favorable conditions of speeding up the hydropower development of the Lancang River basin and has made an exposition of the prospects of the hydropower development of the Lancang River basin in the light of the present situation and the development trend of the electric power industry in Yunnan province. The paper has put forward the proposal to rationalize the rolling development mechanism of hydropower of the river basin and to practically strengthen environment protection measures in terms of implementing of the sustainable development.
