Clinical observation of Haikun Shenxi Capsules combined with sodium ferulate in treatment of chronic renal failure

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Haikun Shenxi Capsules combined with sodium ferulate in treatment of chronic renal failure. Methods Patients(120 cases) with chronic renal failure in Pengzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2012 to May 2015 were randomly divided into control(n = 60) and treatment(n = 60) groups. The patients in the control group were iv administered with Sodium Ferulate for injection, 0.3 g add into 5% glucose injection 200 m L, once daily. The patients in the treatment group were po administered with Haikun Shenxi Capsules on the basis of the control group, 2 grains/time, three times daily. The patients in two groups were treated for 4 weeks. After treatment, the efficacy was evaluated, and the changes of serum urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, endogenous creatinine clearance and urinary protein in two groups before and after treatment were compared. Results After treatment, the efficacies in the control and treatment groups were 71.67% and 81.67%, respectively, and there were differences between two groups(P < 0.05). After treatment, serum urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, and urine protein were significantly decreased, and endogenous creatinine clearance were significantly increased, and the difference was statistically significant in the same group(P < 0.05). After treatment, the observational indexes in the treatment group were significantly better than those in the control group, with significant difference between two groups(P < 0.05). Conclusion Haikun Shenxi Capsules combined with sodium ferulate has clinical curative effect in treatment of chronic renal failure, and can reduce serum urea nitrogen, serum creatinine and urinary protein, also can improve the endogenous creatinine clearance, which has a certain clinical application value.
