Abstract
A FTER tracheotomy in the infant, if the distance between the cricoid cartilage and the carina is too short, the end of the metal cannula can abut on the carina1 or pass into the right main-stem bronchus. This situation may cause partial bronchial obstruction, with all its attendant complications.
