Abstract

[Objective] To analyze the elderly quality of life (QOL) and its influential factors by the SF-36 Health Survey Questionnaire, and explore the risk factors for QOL so as to provide evidence for valid health promotion measures for old people. [Methods] By cluster randomized sampling method, and three neighborhood committees were collected by from the street office which randomly selected, the quality of life and related influence factors of 370 old people who was randomly sampled were face-to-face interviewed and analyzed by logistic stepwise regression,t-test and Variance analysis. [Results] Among the influencing factors for QOL,age, education level, personal income, event of life, model of providing for the elderly and the condition of physical as well as mental health were correlated with the quality of life. [Conclusion] Some population sociological characteristics impact the elderly quality of life. Hence, family and society should provide more cares and helps to them, and improve their living condition, such as,surrounding of life, condition of medical and mental health. It is suggested that the health policy for elderly people should be formulated to the affecting factors of QOL,and health care items should be developed in community,so as to improve QOL of elderly people.
