Abstract
This review of research into changes in language teacher beliefs reveals that carefully designed language teacher education courses are effective in reconstructing teachers’prior beliefs. When teaching practices are added to the teacher education programs, when adjustments are made to the structure of teacher education courses, and when research practices are incorporated in teacher education programs, significant changes are seen in teachers’beliefs.
