Abstract
Objective:To investigate the inhibitory effect of aqueous extract from Astragalus in different dose on Hela cells cultured in vitro. Methods: The cell morphology was observed with inverted microscope. The apoptosis rate of Hela cells was detected by flow cytometry. The effect of aqueous extract from Astragalus on Hela cell proliferation was determined by MTT assay. Results: Aqueous extract from Astragalus inhibited obviously the proliferation of Hela cells in a dose dependent manner. It could induce apoptosis of Hela cells in a time dependent manner. Conclusion: Aqueous extract from Astragalus can suppress obviously proliferation of cervical cancer cells and induce apoptosis.
