A conducting polymer-coated electrode is introduced as an electrode workable as both a reference electrode and a counter electrode in an organic phase. The first part is focused on the electrode reaction of the conducting polymer-coated electrode and strategies for preparation of the electrode. Electrode properties are reviewed based on author′s experimental results in the second part. The third part is focused on application of the conducting polymer-coated electrode to the thin layer cell for voltammetry of ion transfer at the liquid-liquid interface.
