Abstract
The growth condition and yield of seven clumping bamboo species grown in Chishui city of Guizhou were investigated and analyzed to provide a theoretical basis for their popularization. The results showed that the growth condition of seven tested clumping bamboo species was in order of Sinocalamus beecheyanus Dendrocalamus latiflorusNeosinocalamus affinisBambusa pervariabilisNeosinocalamus Affinis= Bambusa distegia = Bambusa rigida and their yield order was Bambusa rigidaBambusa distegiaDendrocalamus latiflorusBambusa pervariabilisNeosinocalamus AffinisSinocalamus beecheyanusNeosinocalamus affinis. The growth condition and yield of Dendrocalamus latiflorus were affected by different land conditions and the yield of Sinocalamus beecheyanus was lower because of artificial management.Dendrocalamus latiflorus with good growth indexes is the optimum clumping bamboo species in Chishui city.
