Analysis of injury death cause of citizens in death surveillance points in Sichuan of 2007.

[Objective] To learn about the injury death causes of citizens in death surveillance points in Sichuan,so as to seek appropriate way of diseases prevention and health improvement,and to improve the average expected life of citizens in Sichuan province.[Methods] The data of death surveillance were collected to analyze the mortality rate and injury death causes of citizens in DSP of Sichuan.[Results] Injury and poisoning was the forth death causes and of which the mortality rate was 42.24 per one hundred thousand.The standardized mortality rate was 36.71 per 100 000 population.The injury years of potential loss life was 24.42,which was the first of all causes of that.The top five death causes of injury were traffic accident,other transport accident,suicide,other unexpected accident and harmful effect as well as drowning.The injury mortality rate of male and rural area was higher than that of female and urban area.The injury mortality rate and death order were different among different age groups.[Conclusion] Injury was the first death cause of population among 1 to 34 years old,and its years of potential loss life was the first,and the main death causes resulting in early death.Relevant actions should be adopted to prevent injury causing death and improve the average expected life.
