In Japan, cracking technology of petroleum residue is in interest as on of the most promising steps for fuel desulfurization in near future.Cracking processes include thermal cracking, hydrocracking, catalytic cracking and gasification, followed by desulfurization process of cracked products.In this report, fundamental process outline, cost estimation and technical problems are described.
