Abstract

Twenty-seven RAPD primers that could amplify stable polymorphic products were selected from 240 random primers for the fingerprinting construction of cucumber varieties and genetic similarity analysis.Totally 163 bands were amplified, among which 70 bands were polymorphic, the average percentage of polymorphic bands being 43.10%.Nine varieties could be identified independently with 12 specific markers generated by 9 primers. All the 22 varieties could be identified by the combination of several primers. The clustering analysis showed that 22 cucumber varieties could be divided into four groups when the GSC value was 0.688 8.The average genetic similarity coefficence was 0.800 4,which indicated low genetic diversity and narrow genetic base of cucumber.
