Abstract

Recently, there have been many reports on the diagnosis of localization of insulinoma. In the present paper, a case of insulinoma, the localization of which was diagnosed preoperatively using dynamic CT and so on, was reported in the light of the related literature. The patient, a 47-year-old woman, visited our hospital because of seizure due to hypoglycemia, and was suspected as having insulinoma because of the high value of blood insulin. The fasting test and glucagon loading test also showed findings compatible with insulinoma. Dynamic CT presented a tumor image of about 1.5cm in diameter in the body of the pancreas, and angiography and PTP revealed the presence of a tumor at the same site. It seems that localization of insulinoma can be more definitely diognosed by comprehensive examinations such as PTP, angiography, ultrasonography, as well as by dynamic CT.
