Abstract

Summary Anderson, C.: Stigmaphyllon bannisterioides, the correct name for a well‐known neotropical species of Stigmaphyllon (Malpighiaceae). ‐ Taxon 41: 327–328. 1992. ‐ ISSN 0040‐0262. Because the widely distributed, atypical species known as Stigmaphyllon ovatum (Cav.) Niedenzu was discovered to include the type of Malpighia bannisterioides L., a name long‐ignored, the new combination Stigmaphyllon bannisterioides is proposed.
