Abstract
The seeds of Eclipta prostrata were treated with different concentrations of cadmium chloride solution to study effects of cadmium on its seed germination and seedling growth. The results showed that different concentrations of cadmium chloride solution had different effect on its seed germination,1 mg/L cadmium chloride solution had promotion effect on seed germination compared with CK,the seed germination rate of seeds treated with 3 mg/L cadmium chloride solution was similar to CK basically, the seed germination of seeds treated with 3 mg/L cadmium chloride solution was obviously inhibited, and the seed germination of seeds treated with 200 mg/L cadmium chloride solution was completely inhibited. Therefore, the suitable concentration and optimum concentration of cadmium chloride solution for promoting seed germination of Eclipta prostrata are 0~3 mg/L and 1 mg/L respectively.
