Abstract
This article introduces dance movement therapy, It describes the current status and history of the profession, and discusses several of the principles on which it is based. The article gives a clinical illustration of a dance movement therapy session with psychiatric outpatients. It concludes with some thoughts on the future development of dance movement therapy.
