Abstract
Objective To explore the best extraction conditions of polysaccharides and their antioxidant activity from Lycium barbarum. Methods A three-factor Box-Behnken center-united design and response surface methodology were used to optimize the microwave-assisted extraction conditions of polysaccharides from Lycium barbarum. The contents of polysaccharides were comfirmed by H2SO4-Phenol method and their antioxidant activity was also determined. Results The best extraction conditions were: microwave power( 320 W),extraction time( 5 min) and material-solution ratio of 1∶ 10. Under these conditions, the highest yield( 10. 14%) of polysaccharide was obtained. Meanwhile, the obtained polysaccharides had the same antioxidant activity as these extracted by water. Conclusion With easy operations and stable results, the current extraction method can be used in the extraction of polysaccharides from Lycium barbarum.
