Abstract
The fresh weight,water balanced value,vase life and ornamental quality of Gladiolus hybridus. cut flowers were treated by tetracycline and KT respectively to study the effect of different fresh preservation agents on the cut flowers. The results showed that the solution with 0.5% sucrose + 500 mg/L 8-HQ + 30 mg/L KT could increase its fresh weight,promote its water absorbing capacity,prolong its vase life and improve its ornamental quality effectively. The solution with 0.5% sucrose was not beneficial to its water absorption. The fresh preservation effect of the cut flowers in the solution with 0.5% sucrose+ 500 mg/L 8-HQ + 200 mg/L tetracycline was not better than that the solution with 0.5% sucrose+ 500 mg/L 8-HQ.
