Abstract
Objective To survey the number, density and composition of Anopheles in Hainan Province from 2006 to 2008 and provide evidence for malaria control and prevention. Methods The number and density of Anopheles were calculated according to data from national surveillance sites of Hainan Province. The proportions of three types of Anopheles in 2006 to 2008 were compared by chi-square test, and their trends were analyzed using Cochran-Armitage trend test. Results The number and density of Anopheles from 2006 to 2008 were 200 (1.10)、201 (1.05)and 135 (0.58). The proportion of three types of Anopheles from 2006 to 2008 was significantly different from each other (χ2=19.97,P=0.0005). The proportion of Anopheles dirus was increasing(Z=3.36,P=0.0008),while that of Anopheles senensis was decreasing(Z=-2.33,P =0.02),and that of Anopheles minimus was not changed significantly from 2006 to 2008. Conclusion The number and density of Anopheles in Hainan Province from 2006 to 2008 were decreasing while the proportion of Anopheles dirus was significantly increasing, indicating that the prevention and control of Anopheles dirus be strengthened.
