Abstract

In our experience, Local Government often feels that its role in housing provision is one of facilitation rather than direct housing provision. Social housing policies increasingly include phrases such as: promote and support social housing, fast track planning applications, provide relevant statistical information, encourage partnerships between developers and housing agencies, and advocate on behalf of the homeless and disadvantaged households.
