Abstract

The foliar sprays of botanicals (Lantana camara, Adhatoda vasica, Azadirachta indica and Ocimum sanctum) at 15 and 30% concentrations each were applied to urdbean Cv. TPU-4 at 20 DAS, at 50% flowering and at pod filling stages. In addition to that the seeds were treated with all botanicals for 2 hours before sowing. The study revealed that spraying of botanicals significantly influenced seed yield and yield attributing characters, maximum being due to 30% concentration of Azadirachta indica leaves extract. Extracts (30%) of Adhatoda vasica, Lantana camara and Azadirachta indica leaves were responsible for early flowering. The maximum numbers of pods per plant were observed due to Adhatoda vasica while minimum due to Ocimum sanctum leaves extract.
