Abstract

New molecules having novel mode of action along with conventional insecticides were bioassayed against 5-day old larvae of Earias vittella (Fabricius) by ‘Potters tower spray method’. Based on the LC50 values, abamectin, betacyfluthrin, emamectin benzoate and spinosad were found highly toxic to the test insect. The LC50 values of abamectin, betacyfluthrin, emamectin benzoate, spinosad, cypermethrin, endosulfan, lambda cyhalothrin, chlorpyriphos, indoxacarb, and fipronil were 0.0001, 0.0001, 0.0004, 0.0004, 0.0006, 0.0017, 0.0027, 0.0032, 0.0237 and 0.0409%, respectively.
