Abstract

Objective To discuss characteristic of contact allergens of patients with dermatitis and eczema in different sites in Hutubi County of Xinjiang,so as to prevent and treat dermatitis and eczema. Methods Two hundred and six cases with contact dermatitis(110 cases with hand eczema,96 cases with facial dermatitis) were tested with patch test. Results Positive rate of the patch test was 67.3% in cases with hand eczema, and 69.8% in cases with facial dermatitis. The top five allergens were rubber additives, ammorliated mercury,P-phenylenediamine,fragrance mix and nickel sulfate for patients with hand eczema, and ammorliated mercury, nickel sulfate, fragrance mix, rubber additives and potassium dichromate for patients with facial dermatitis. There was statistical difference in the positive rate of nickel sulfate and rubber additives between hand eczema and facial dermatitis(χ2=4.914,P0.05;χ2=5.132,P0.05).The positive rate of P-phenylenediamine was significantly different between hand eczema and facial dermatitis(χ2=14.701,P=0.000).The positive rate of one allergen in cases with hand eczema and facial dermatitis was 46.4% and 30.2% respectively. The positive rate of two allergens or above in cases with hand eczema and facial dermatitis was 20.9% and 39.6% respectively. Conclusions There are difference in distribution of contact allergens between patients with hand eczema and facial dermatitis in Hutubi County.Patch test is helpful in identifying the contact allergens of patients with dermatitis and eczema in different sites.
